Prayer & Praise
We never pray alone. Here you will find current points for prayer, and things I thank God for.
What can you pray for?
A few current points for your prayers. I keep these updated regularly.
Clean air and relief from the haze
Air quality in Singapore has dropped sharply due to regional smoke and haze, prompting us to wear face masks outside. Please pray for rain and favorable winds to clear the air quickly.
Finalising the test phase for secure browser logins
Colleagues are testing our browser-based remote access setup and finding it much smoother to work with. Pray for wisdom in resolving the remaining minor teething issues before wider rollout.
Clarity and vendor feedback on backup software
We are waiting for security assessment reports from the backup software vendor to shape our affordable backup strategy. Pray for prompt, clear feedback and discernment in our technical choices.
Secure workspaces for sensitive regions
We will soon resume configuring secure virtual workspaces. Pray for wisdom and vigilance in designing isolated systems, so mission workers in restricted or high-risk areas can communicate and work safely.
Continued stability for legacy finance server
While the cleanup script is performing well, this legacy machine must stay stable not just until January 1st, but for another full year to support official audits. Please pray that it continues running without issues.
Clarity on God’s guidance for the future
During these six months in Singapore, I hope to discern whether long-term missionary IT work is my calling. Pray that God makes next steps clear and guides every decision.
What am I thankful for?
God has provided so much already. A few things I am deeply grateful for.
Quick resolution of the finance system glitch
Following a weekend outage in the central finance system, the root cause was traced and resolved within ten minutes this morning, bringing immediate relief to the finance team.
Encouraging adoption of browser-based logins
Gratitude for responsive feedback from our testing group at the office. Colleagues find accessing their workspaces directly via the browser much simpler and friendlier.
Warm community and shared meals at home
Thankful for great fellowship and frequent cooking sessions with housemates at Pandan Valley, making Singapore feel increasingly like home.
A welcoming church home in the city
Gratitude for the warm welcome at Redemption Hill Church in Chinatown, uplifting teaching, and encouraging fellowship with young adults after Sunday services.
Continued prayer support from back home
It is wonderful to experience so much prayer support, encouraging messages, and engagement from supporters back home and around the world.
